Allow me to write about my educative experience in the last 10 years, as well as some personal skills and hobbies which will serve as an introduction to solicit an opportunity to integrate with the staff at your prestigious School
I enjoy teaching Language (Spanish or English) tremendously and am committed to striving for excellence in all of my teaching endeavors. My teaching experience can be traced back to when I served as Literature teacher in Liceo Azcunaga just after my graduation.
I graduated from one of the most prestigious Universities of El Salvador and of all of Central America primarily focusing on the art of teaching. I obtained my Teacher degree in Language and Literature. Obtaining this degree allowed me to work as a high school teacher for five years. I taught several courses including Universal Literature, Spanish Grammar, Social Studies, Philosophy and Dram. From this experience I learned to enjoy teaching.
I emigrated to the US in 1999 to Teach Drama and to coordinate all Drama activities for a local Church in California. In 2000 I met my wife and we moved to Boston MA to pursue her career as a Doctor of Optometry.
In 2001 I was granted the opportunity to teach Spanish in a Special Education School in the Boston area. Later, in 2003 I was hired for the Chelsea Public School District in Boston, MA to teach English as a Second Language for students from many parts of the world. I was also the official school translator of all documents addressed to parents as well as interpreting for non English speakers who attended school meetings.
In 2008 I had to come to El Salvador to receive residency for the United States and to finish a Masters degree in Education.
From the very beginning of my teaching experience, I believed that good planning leads to good teaching. As a teacher, you must have a clear understanding of the topics you are teaching; you must have a clear idea on how to deliver the topics to the students. Only when you know the topic well, you are able to explain it to the students. I also think a good teacher should always look for ways to improve teaching skills. While teaching itself was certainly improving my skills, I paid great attention to any suggestions made by students or faculty as well as from training work-shops.
Looking ahead, I would be interested in teaching any subject ranging from Language to Literature to Social Studies or English. I am eager to integrate my extensive teaching experience and my strong computer and technological skills into the teaching scenario because I believe these components and tools have become indispensable for both academic research and industrial growth.
I thank you in advance for taking this time to oversee my expertise and hope you can grant me the opportunity to teach with your school.
