Happy Mail For Heroes, Woy Woy ( @Happy Mail For Heroes, Woy Woy
) has his #bethedifference
All of our heroes are one of a kind, but our July hero is literally the only known person in Australia with her diagnosis!
Arie is 7 years old. When she was 8 months she started rolling her eyes. It got worse and worse, happening over 100 times each day. At 18 months old, Westmead Children's Hospital stepped in on Arie's case and diagnosed her with epilepsy, but felt something else was going on. After many more months of testing, her family learned she has a chromosomal deletion of 17p13. As a result of her missing chromosome, Arie has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, sleep disorder, epilepsy, low muscle tone, and intellectual disability. She is now on a worldwide database to try and find someone else in the world with the same missing chromosome.
Arie is an incredibly happy, friendly, innocent & loving little girl. She assumes that everyone she meets is her friend. She loves animals and loves a day out at the zoo or an animal park. When she was 3, Arie got her very own therapy dog, a husky named Kaz.
She enjoys reading easy, simple story books, and all types of craft. She LOVES mermaids and unicorns, and loves to play babies with her dolly. She also likes Frozen, Trolls, and any show on Disney Junior.
Arie takes swimming lessons and likes riding her scooter to the park and playing on the swings.
Her favourite colours are pink and purple. She wears size 10 girls clothing.
I hope you'll join me in getting behind our gorgeous hero Arie. She is such a lovely little soul and is so looking forward to your happy mail! 💙Dale xx
