Day 22/ 84:
Ardha Chandrasana /Half Moon
Plactice with #AHIMUSA
Today, I'm uploading some pictures of Half Moon to show you the difference between the posture with block and without block.
The picture in the forest, I didn't have block with me BECAUSE I thought it's cool to make a posture without block. While, the other pictures, I'm with my block, my best friend.
I hope you see the difference of between them.
1. Without the block, I was hardly standing with one foot, and I couldn't fix my hips that are not square. All my attention is focused on standing on one foot and balancing of my body. My goal at this time was just standing with one foot without block, which I thought was PRETTY COOL!
2. With the block. Having the block to help me I'm pretty stable with one foot, and I have enough space in my mind to think of my alignment. Where can I feel my gravity. Is my knee on standing side happy with the position it is in? How is the other foot? How are my hips, chest and shoulders?
One of the benefits of this posture is hip and chest opening, then I should take advantage of it. What matter is not if I can do it or not. What matters is if I know the purpose of the posture.
Then, after while since I started using props, I found that I could open my chest more and my hips should be more square.
So I put my left hand to my hip and tried to open the hip as much as I could, I also tried to open my chest, and made my shoulders relaxed. Then slowly slowly, when I felt I'm ready, I raised my arms.
Which one do you like, practicing yoga without block or with block. I highly secommend use a block when you practice Yoga, so you can be kind to your body and yourself. AHIMSA-#Non harmfulness ❤❤ .
